Captain Steve's Fishing Lodge
~ Fishing Regulations ~

I have been asked many times lately, "What are the fish limits where you are, and do you have slot limits?"

Our limits haven't changed in many years, and we do not have slot limits on our fish.

We are allowed two halibut per day of any size.

We are allowed five King Salmon; one per day, five in possession.

We are allowed up to six salmon of the smaller species per day (Silver, Sockeye, Pink & Chum) of which no more than three can be silvers.

We are allowed two Lingcod over 35 inches per day, everyday, starting July 1st. through December 31st.

The most generous catch limits in Alaska are available for our lodge guests:

Sitka, Alaska

Kenai Peninsula, Alaska

~ King Salmon:
1 per day ~ 3 yearly
between May & June 3 total.
  1 per day ~ 5 yearly

July 1st to July 15th
1 per day 2 total.

After July 15th 1 fish
Total over 48 inches.

~ Halibut:
1 per day   2 per day

~ Lingcod:
1 per year
between 30 and 35 inches.

2 per day over 35 inches
No slot limits!
You can keep bigger fish

~ Yelloweye Rockfish:
1 per day
2 total per year
  1 per day

The difference between limits in Sitka and the Kenai Peninsula are very different, and not fair!

It all revolves around the commercial fishermen who own the majority of the total halibut harvest rights. Their bycatch and wastage is more than the total annual harvest of the sport fishing charter industry!

Alaska is beautiful... with the economy the way it is, our whole fishing industry needs your support!

I obtained my information from the Sitka Fish and Wildlife Protection division (907-747-5355) and Kenai Peninsula Fish & Wildlife Protection in Soldotna Alaska (907-262-9368).

We have everything Alaska can offer...

Alaska's biggest fish!

Captain Steve knows when, where & how to catch them.
